[i]  To be part of an open Christian Community means that we expect participants to conduct themselves according to Christian values. The greatest Christian value is love. It refers ultimately to self-giving love even to the point of loving one’s enemy. Christian values are formed by Christian beliefs and teachings which are chiefly preserved in the form of stories. But while we expect adherence to Christian values, and chiefly the value of love, we recognize that love is also simply a universal human value and that people’s beliefs are highly variable, being the result of their individual experiences. We therefore do not require adherence to Christian beliefs but only to Christian values.
