Job Title: Summer/Fall Community Connector

Duration: Full time: June 15th - August 27th (with 2 weeks break in July or August). Part-time: August 28th - April 15th.

Office: Lutheran Campus Ministry
Hours of Work: Full time: 30 hours per week. Part-time: 10 hours per week
Compensation: $20 per hour
Working Condition: Evenings and weekends may be required reflecting schedules of activities, on and off-site.
Task Summary:
Orientation to Ethos of ELCIC
Engage with Kuriakos Youth and Young Adult Programming (ELCIC)
Engagement
Engage with Young Adults on social media to encourage and promote participation in Campus Ministries
Create online content through new and current trends in social media that will help to promote engagement
Engage and reach out to Young Adults in person at Mount Royal University, Chaplains at Mount Royal office and in Church circles (congregations, courts, camps & youth gatherings) to encourage participation in Campus Ministries as possible and as appropriate under pandemic conditions
Support the work of University Chaplains as possible at the agreement of the supervisor
Program Support
Understand and interpret to the staff team the needs of students and young adults
Assist staff team in the delivery of existing programs (at time of writing: Drum Dine Discuss, Holy Bakery, Women Circle, Dirty Theology)
Assist staff team in the development and implementation of new programs at the agreement of Supervisors
Support, Supervision, and Evaluation
Receive supervision from Chaplain
Attend bi-weekly Campus Ministry Team meetings
Attend Committee meetings as requested
Support by the Chaplain and Committee
Review conducted by Chaplain and Committee
Submit monthly reports of work

Requirements:
Must meet the requirements of the Canada Summer Jobs Program
Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations. International students are not eligible participants. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
Must be available to participate in staff training in Sylvan Lake from June 16th to June 26th. Food, transportation, and accommodation will be provided.
The screening procedure will involve a reference check and a Police Information check.
